As divorce rates surge on a daily basis, we read stories about the reasons behind them such as physical abuse, rape, abusive language and more. Couples could not afford more of the worse that is to come along the social ills already happening. Here are some reasons that lead to potential doom in marriage, just to begin with before its associated horrors along the way.

Killer 1: Financial Stress

With financial stress at its doorsteps, comes a longer list of negative impacts on your family or spouse. Struggling to pay those monthly bills, saving up for the kids, surprise bills that comes in with greater tags, fear for loss of job, not getting paid on time, no pay raise, no bonus, huge amount of debts, mortgages, loans, and etc.. It is no wonder family life becomes sober, filled with agony, worry and disappointments. If you had been working extra hours trying to meet the deadline, and by the time you arrive home, your spouse throws further tantrums and starts to ask a lot of questions, how does that feel? This is of course subject to different scenarios with different couples, and it is open for imagination.

Killer 2: Poor Communication

Besides financial stress, proper communication is essential. Sadly, there are much less talking or quality communication between couples these days as compared to making sales speeches or management reports. Quality time and communication becomes less of an issue, hence couples grow distant over time. Worse, the relationship lacks passion and often what is left is plain boredom on the same set of routines and bad old habits all the time. This makes way for an affair given opportunity, because generally one may feel at ease with someone new and interesting of the opposite sex. He/she does not have to rally around the stressful realities of a commitment.

Killer 3: Health Problems

When there are so many things to worry about, there happens stress induced problems such as developing addictions on smoking, alcoholism, gambling or irregular behaviors such as not eating on time and not exercising at all. These would directly or indirectly affect health in so many ways and in the longer term, actual problems may arise such as contracting cancer, heart diseases, hormonal imbalance (in particular ladies experiencing low counts of oestrogen) that may each lead to a lot of damages within the relationship. Also, sometimes people are not even aware that their health has taken on a heavy toll on their relationship.
